Temple Approach

Concept painting for my comic - the comic is going to be in black and white, but I think in colour, so I did this.

The path to the shinto shrine in which one of my characters live. It was fun painting the torii and the stone lanterns.

Colouring was done by first doing everything in greyscale to get the values right, and then slapping a dozen overlay-layers on top of it all.
